On the other hand, for sensitive skin, sufficient moisture prevents itching, which is often caused by dryness. In other words: Sufficient moisture is of fundamental importance for every skin type.

Deep Sea Diver

What the deep-sea diver is to marine researchers, the serum is to skincare. Due to their particularly light texture, serums can penetrate deeper skin layers and develop their effect. Since the individual molecules are smaller, they can penetrate deeper skin layers and solve many ( skin ) problems that lie beneath the surface. Due to its high water content, the serum is quickly absorbed into the skin and does not leave a film. Its biggest secret, however, lies in the high concentration of the functional ingredients. What’s in it?

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a physiological component of the skin – especially of the connective tissue – and plays an essential role in cell proliferation (cell growth and renewal). It has the task of penetrating deep into the skin and filling and supporting it and serves as a moisture reserve. The decisive factor of hyaluronic acid is its ability to bind and store vast water quantities relative to its mass (up to six liters of water per gram). Due to its function as a “biological sponge”, hyaluronic acid intensively supplies the skin with moisture, absorbs stress and improves the skin’s elasticity: wrinkles can be visibly reduced and moisture can be stored for a long time. As hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, there are practically no allergies or side effects to this functional ingredient.

Our biotechnological hyaluronic acid is obtained by fermenting proteins from yeast. This so-called “vegetarian” hyaluronic acid is finally purified by multiple filtering and is characterized by its high degree of purity compared to animal-derived hyaluronic acid. Besides, the molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid is increased in this process, which further enhances its positive properties. We use both short-chain and long-chain hyaluronic acid in our products. Short-chain hyaluronic acid penetrates deeper into the skin and develops its effect there, by strengthening the skin’s matrix, while long-chain hyaluronic acid develops its effect on the skin’s surface, smoothing and cushioning it.

Fig extract

The fig fruit is one of the oldest cultivated trees and comes from Asia Minor. It thrives on dry soils and can store enormous amounts of moisture in its fruits. The peculiarity of this fruit is that it encloses many flowers in spherical “containers”, which never see the light but still come to full bloom. The pollination takes place inside the fruit by special fig wasps.

The pectins found in the figs form a film in the skin, which reduces the permeability of the horny layer (stratum corneum), thus reducing the TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Free sugars act as NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) and bind water to the keratinocytes, a cell type found in the epidermis. The malic acid contained in the fig extract can induce the formation of keratin, which ensures long-lasting elasticity of the skin. In addition, the functional ingredient of the fig extract restores the natural moisture balance and leads to a long-term moisturization of the skin. The effectiveness has been confirmed in a study: The skin’s moisture is increased by 90%. Even 8 hours after application, the skin’s moisture content is still 40% higher.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a real wonder plant. As a succulent, it stores a lot of moisture in its leaves, which allows it to grow even in dry areas. To develop this ability and produce concentrated ingredients, the plant’s slow and full sunny growth is essential. We use this ability of the plant in our moisturizing products.

loe Vera has an anti-itching, cooling and soothing effect. Its high antioxidant content can protect the skin from free radicals. The leaf gel of aloe vera can also inhibit substances that lead to the development of tissue defects and helps to stimulate collagen production by stimulating macrophages and fibroblasts. Aloe Vera has also been shown in various studies to be effective against some viruses, bacteria and fungi. Its effectiveness in seborrheic dermatitis and acne has been confirmed in clinical studies.
